The historic mine and its museum are enjoyed by residents and the many tourists who visit our community. The beautiful grounds are a perfect location to celebrate weddings, cultural events, and other occasions.

PETITION TO SAVE THE HISTORIC EMPIRE MINE STATE PARK!
We the undersigned are very concerned about the impact the possible closure of the Empire Mine State Park will have on our community and the State.
This facility is a prime factor in the economic, cultural, and social fabric of Western Nevada County. In addition to its important historical value, the Empire Mine State Park generates a significant income for the State Park System. The ripple effect from visitors to the park is a key factor in the tourism economy of Western Nevada County. This extremely popular wedding venue alone is a highly valuable source of tourism dollars for both the park and the local economy, attracting many visitors who would have no other reason to visit Western Nevada County were the park to close.
Keep the Empire Mine Historic State Park open! Tne economic health of Nevada County will be negatively affected by its closure and the citizens of our community and California will lose a beautiful historic jewel!
