Nevada County Economic Resource Council (ERC)Nevada County Economic Resource Council (ERC) maintains a comprehensive Business Directory of employers with the products and services businesses offer along with information about the Nevada County labor market. The directory is a valuable resource for both employers and job seekers. In addition to the Business Directory, the ERC maintains postings of job openings by employer in the area. Job seekers may also post their resume on the ERC site. WorkForce ConnectionThe WorkForce Connection One-Stop Career Center offers a variety of training programs for jobseekers and provides businesses assistance in recruiting, screening, hiring and training new employees. The One-Stop WorkForce Connection Center is located at 117 New Mohawk Road, Suite G in Nevada City, phone (530) 265-3204.The WorkForce Connection is a partnership of community-based agencies collaborating with the local business community to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the local and regional economy. The WorkForce Connection partners include Cal WORKS Employment Services, California Department of Rehabilitation, Employment Development Center, Golden Sierra Job Training Agency, Nevada County Economic Resource Council, 49er R.O.P., Sierra College, Experience Works, and Native TANF program. The “Working Here” section provides a variety of resources for persons working and/or seeking employment in Nevada County. Information regarding career training services, transportation, the CalWORKs Welfare-To-Work services program and employers can be found through the site. Other Employment ServicesA varienty of employment and training services are provided by Chamber members. These services range from full service human resources consulting firms providing temporary employment, temporary to full-time, and direct hire services to specific job training services.
