The presentations were made Saturday January 19, 2008 at the Chamber's 98th Annual Awards and Installation Dinner. John Foster presented the 2007 Business of the Year to BriarPatch Co-op Natural Foods Community Market for their
stunning new building on Sierra College Drive in Grass Valley. Accepting the award for BriarPatch was Operations
Manager, Jose Martinez. BriarPatch is a cooperatively-owned natural foods community market serving Nevada County
since 1976.
With the move in May 2007, BriarPatch Co-op tripled the size of the store and expanded services. The new store
includes a deli and facilities that serve as an inviting community gathering space. BriarPatch is commited to natural
and organic foods, healthy living and the environment.
   The new Briar Patch Co-op building was built to be Nevada County’s first commercial LEED* - Certified Green Building

 | Howard & Peggy Levine presented the Person of the Year Award to Maestro Paul Perry of Music in the Mountains. Paul has been Artistic Director and Conductor with Music in the Mountains for 27 years. He will retire this summer. Having been instrumental in the founding of Music in the Mountains in 1981 and later serving so brilliantly at MIM's healm, Paul is an invaluable contributor to our community and the arts. Real Estate. Debra has been a volunteer Ambassador with the Chamber for several years. in 2007 she was instrumental in compiling a brochure for prospective Ambassadors and in designing a mentoring and
training program to help new Ambassadors during their months of training. She inspired the transformation of the Ambassador subcommittee into the warm and vibrant community interface that
